A very rare 14th/15th century oak ceiling boss later adapted as a wall bracket. It is profusely carved with oak leaves and a rose, the symbol of the Virgin Mary. "See English Medieval Furniture and Woodwork" by Charles Tracy pages 36 and 37 which show similar ceiling bosses from St Albans Cathedral (early 14th century). 16 inches wide x 10 inches high x 6 inches deep.
