A near pair of early oak carved lions.

Dating from the late 16th century and mid 17th century, these two lions are shown in the sejant position holding shields and may have been newel posts. The smaller lion on the left dates from the end of the 16th century whilst the slightly larger example is probably from the mid 17th century. 12.5 inches high and 13.5 inches high. They are priced at £1450 for the two but could be split.
