The sitters of these portraits are almost certainly of a married couple and date to the early years of the reign of Charles II. Oil on canvas, they are attributed to the studio of John Michael Wright (1617-1694). Both portraits show the sitter standing in landscape with a partly clouded sky in the background and have one hand across their chest. 29 inches wide x 35 inches high across the period giltwood frames.
