Usually referred to as "pig benches" this type of low table works very well as that rarity in period furniture, a coffee table, and would be perfect to stand in front of a sofa or settle.It is made in wonderfully patinated pine and has a two inch thick double plank top and well spayed square section legs which make it very stable. It measures 55 inches long x 16 1/2 inches deep x 18 inches high.
