AN EARLY 19TH CENTURY ELM PRIMITIVE CHILD'S CHAIR.

This primitive and robust child's chair is constructed in well figured elm with boarded sides and back and a wonderful plank seat that is nearly two inches thick. The well splayed ash legs are fitted right through the seat and secured with cleft wedges. The back has a cut-out carrying handle at the top and the side boards have been drilled with holes to fit a restraining bar. I measures 13 1/2 inches wide x 10 inches deep and is 20 inches high. Wonderful honey colour and patination. Circa 1820.
