An early 19th century stool with a well figured elm top pierced with a hand hole and the pegged base
with pine legs and stretchers. The two long stretchers have extraordinary wear whilst the end stretchers have very little. The stool may have been used by a craftsman operating a lathe or other mechanical device whose foot rested on the stretcher thus causing the extensive wear. Excellent natural patination. The top 12 1/2 inches x 9 inches and it is 19 inches high.
