A Thames Valley yew wood armchair with a Chippendale style fretted splat and with elegant cabriole front legs and a crinoline stretcher. The seat in well figured ash. Excellent rich colour throughout. Circa 1770. See Antique Windsor Chairs by Michael Harding-Hill catalogue entry 16706 for a very similar example. 39 1/2 inches high with a seat height of 17 1/2 inches and it is 22 1/2 inches wide across the arms.
