This stunning little dresser dates from the first decade of the 18th century and is typical of the top quality dressers made in the Denbighshire area of North Wales. The rack has a scalloped frieze below the cornice, spoon slots to the upper shelf and wonderful original backboards. The base has three fielded panel front drawers with good heavy oak linings above a pair of double fielded panel doors. The back and sides are also panelled. The colour and patination are outstanding and typical of the area. Although it could equally be used with the rack as there are no marks on the base other than two small screw holes, the base and rack should never be parted. Twenty years ago this would have a £15,000 - £20,000 dresser! Just 49 inches wide x 20 inches deep x 72 inches high and the base is 33 inches high.
