A Henry VII period oak dome topped casket in lovely condition. The dome top is held by iron hinges and is secured with an iron hasp and has its original iron handle whilst the lockplate is a later addition. The front is carved with a pair of simple linenfold panels with scratchwork decoration. The square pegging and chip carved edges suggest that it is English and it probably dates to about 1500. The base is lovely and dry with the expected rot. 12 inches wide x 7 inches deep x 10 inches high.
