I am glad to say that this wonderful little coffret has never been treated with wax or polish in its near six hundred year history. It has a thick walnut top held by its original iron hinges. The front and sides are in oak and decorated with superb Gothic blind tracery carving. The oak bottom board is an old replacement but otherwise it is untouched condition. Probably French although there are similar if larger examples in English churches. 36 inches wide x 16 inches deep x 13 1/2 inches high.
