Although a bit tatty, this stumpwork mirror is a wonderful object and a rare survivor. With its original tortoise shell frame, it depicts Charles II in his royal robes and crown and his wife Catherine of Braganza who is also crowned. Also depicted are two further figures, a stag, a unicorn, a lion and a leopard. It measures 24 1/2 inches wide x 27 inches high and comes with a protective glazed frame which is probably 19th century.
