Dating to about 1630, this lovely little oak chest has a boarded top held by its original butterfly hinges, two front panels carved with dragons, deeply carved rails and the stiles are decorated with split bobbin appliques. The sides are carved with diamonds. Excellent untouched condition and with lovely colour and patination. The carving is typical of the top quality workshops from Gloucestershire. 42 1/2 inches wide x 18 1/2 inches deep x 26 1/2inches high.
