Dating to about 1725, this mirror is a rare survivor and appears to be in excellent untouched condition. It is walnut veneered with inset scallop shells with traces of their original gilding. The mirror glass is distressed and quite dark and appears to be original as do the brass candle arms. See Adam Bowett "Early Georgian Furniture" page 280 for similar examples. 50 inches high x 22 1/2 inches wide.
