Dating from about 1800, this primitive elm stool is more like a piece of sculpture than a piece of furniture. The wonderfully shaped and figured top has two holes in it, one is a knot hole and the other appears to be burn hole. The three chamfered edge legs are pegged through the top and one is a slightly different shape but appears to be period. The top is 16 inches x 10 1/2 inches and the height is 11 1/2 inches.
