Dating to about 1680, this cricket table has a three plank top which is secured by pegs to the frame and tops of the legs in the usual way. However, one of the pegs was slightly misdirected and split the top of the leg exposing it. It is the longest peg I have ever seen at five inches. The maker merely put another peg in nearer the centre and did not even bother to fill in the hole where the peg had gone through. The legs are of ring turned baluster form. The table has lovely untouched medium colour and patination and is circa 1680. It has a diameter of 25 1/2 inches and is 25 inches high.
