Dating to about 1645, this oak armchair has a deeply carved quatrefoil design to the back panel between rails carved with interlacing arches. The boarded seat is original and it stands on ball and fillet turned legs. The quatrefoil design is often associated with West Country workshops, but the quality and weight of the oak suggest that it could be from North Wales. 39 1/2 inches high and the seat height is 18 1/2 inches.
