Dating to about 1625/30, this heavy oak armchair is probably from the Salisbury area and is in lovely untouched condition. It has a substantial crest rail which is deeply carved with SS decoration typical of the area. The back panel is carved with a diamond shape enclosing a rosette. It has a nice original boarded seat and good turnings to the arm supports and legs. 42 1/2 inches high x 23 inches wide on the seat and the seat height is 17 1/2 inches.
