This impressive armchair constructed entirely in elm has a shaped top rail and a Hepplewhite inspired fretted splat with lovely shaping to the arms and arm supports. The seat is constructed from a single elm board and is inset to allow for a cushion. It has a good rake to the back and is very comfortable with the use of made to measure cushion. Probably East Anglian in origin with excellent colour and figuring tot he timber, it dates from about 1790 and measures25 inches wide x 42 inches high.
