Possibly a wine cooler or a cachepot, this very attractive and large faience pot is probably French 19th century. It stands 12 inches high and is decorated in polychrome with a noble coats of arms to one side and two figures in 18th century dress on the other. It has stylised lion's mask carrying handles. It has some old staple repairs and is very sound.
