Probably from the Tyrol during the first half of the 16th century, this figure shows St George in typical pose dressed in armour and holding a lance (a later replacement) with the slain dragon at his feet. Unlike St. Michael, he was not an angel and did not have wings. The figure retains much of its original, if distressed, polychrome finish. 17 1/2 inches high not including the lance.
