Probably Dutch circa 1630, this charming painting depicts an attractive girl playing a lute. The lute was a symbol of love and in 17th century Holland the feathered cap had sexual connotations. The oil on canvas has its original lining and is in a lovely unrestored condition. the giltwood and painted frame appears to be original as well. It measures 26 inches wide x 30 inches high.
