A 16TH/17TH OAK ANGEL.

Probably English or French, this elegant and well carved figure of an angel has long flowing hair and is dressed in a cloak and surplice. It has lost its arms and on the back can seen the marks where its wings would have been fixed. It stands 26 1/2 inches high including the later socle.
