Probably dating from the middle of the 18th century, this extraordinary carving shows three heads, two of men and one of an animal which appears to be a ram. The carver, who must have been very skilled, has incorporated the natural root burr of the tree to depict the heads. It measures about 15 inches x 15 inches and is about 2 1/2 inches thick.
