A beautifully painted oil on board portrait of a lady posed in front of a stone arch. She is wearing pearls in her hair and around her neck and wears a bejewelled fur stole and a pink dress. The portrait dates from about 1640 and it has the remains of a wax owner's seal verso. 15 inches x 12 1/2 inches across the board. 17 1/2 inches x 20 inches across the 18th century giltwood frame.
