Probably a Liverpool piece, this delft guglet water bottle is decorated in blue with Chinoiserie scenes and, unusually, has a pouring lip. On the base it has a label "Gautier Collection". Louis Gautier was a premier dealer in English delftware in the first half of the 20th century and many well known collectors bought from him. See "Delftware" by Michael Archer fig.
