Dating from about 1730, this drug jar is in superb untouched condition and the quality of the decoration suggests that it is probably a Liverpool piece. It has the cartouche EX:GENTIAN: The root of Gentia was used to alleviate skin complaints. The decoration includes a pair of winged cherubs on either side of a shell and below the cartouche it has a winged cherub's head with a tassel. 7 1/2 inches high.
