A LATE GOTHIC TYROLESE SEATED MADONNA.

Probably dating from the mid 15th century and from the Tyrol, this wonderful figure is in superbly patinated pine with traces of the original paint. The Virgin wears a long cloak, a crown, a necklace and a belt. Her hair is braided and is mostly covered by a flowing headdress. 28 inches high.
