Of very small proportions, this early 17th century oak buffet is a very rare survivor and as far as I know is the only complete example still in existence. It has three shelves each decorated with incised carving to the edges, fluted uprights to the front and applied carved and fretted friezes to the shelves. The rails are carved with a design usually associated with Wiltshire/Gloucestershire. Excellent rich colour and basically in fine untouched condition. 34 1/2 inches wide x 12 1/2 inches deep x 46 inches high.
