Probably from Nottinghamshire, this high quality elbow chair is larger than most being 46 inches high, 24 inches wide across the arms and 22 inches across the seat. All in yew apart from the back legs and seat, it has a burr yew splat and a crinoline stretcher. such chairs were commonly called "Best chairs" and were more expensive than their more ordinary cousins.
