Dating to about 1700, this lovely side table is constructed entirely in yew wood, apart from the pine drawer linings, and its crowning glory is a moulded edge top parquetry constructed of a variety of geometric shapes. It stands on reverse baluster turned legs with their original toes joined by wavy X shaped stretchers and has what appears to be its original finial. Under the drawer there is an old label reading James Bourlet & Sons Ltd Fine Art Packers, Frame Makers. They were based in the West End of London and flourished from 1871-1902. The colour is superb throughout, particularly on the parquetry top. The table measures 29 1/2 inches wide 20 3/4 inches deep x 29 inches high.
