From the same collection as the carved heads and probably originally from the same bed, this substantial pair of Elizabethan bed posts have similar excellent quality carving depicting floral and other designs. The colour and patination are also very similar. The balls on top of the posts are later. They could be reused on a bed or possibly adapted to make a stunning pair of lamps. They are 27 inches high not including the later balls or the pegs with a diameter of 5 inches. The carved bases on which the posts sat measure 6 inches square x 3/4 inch thick.
