A GEORGIAN BURR OAK PEDESTAL TABLE.

Dating to about 1790, this substantial pedestal table has a 3/4 thick tilt top constructed from four burr boards and stands on column stem which is also in burr oak, probably from the same tree. It stands on three swept legs which give it excellent stability despite the weight of the top. The rich dark colour and patination are outstanding and it has never been cleaned off. It would look stunning in a hall but could also be used as a small dining table. It measures 32 inches inches in diameter x 27 1/2 inches high.
