Comprising a pair of caryatids and a pair of atlantes, this impressive and deeply carved oak set of four forms are probably Flemish circa 1580 and after designs by Jan Vredeman de Vries's Caryatidum. They depict a pair of male and female figures with elaborate head dresses shown naked with crossed arms above lions' masks and other typical designs. They are of fine quality with excellent colour. They have recently been acquired from a private collection. 33 inches high x 5 1/2 inches wide x just over 2 inches deep.
