A George II lowboy that is a fine example of country furniture imitating London pieces and to my mind has much more character. The walnut top is crossbanded and has simple herringbone inlay and the three drawers have similar decoration and the brass drop handles appear to be original. The four square section elm cabriole legs terminate on spade toes. Despite being a country piece, it has great elegance as well as wonderful colour and patination. 31 inches wide x 18 1/2 inches deep x 29 inches high.
