Dating to about 1740, this attractive delft dish depicts three figures in a landscape with two large trees and a house in the background. The figure on the left carries a hay rake and leads by the hand a girl with a basket on her head who appears to be looking back rather wistfully at a young man who is serenading her with a clarinet. The deep sided plate stands on a raised foot rim and is 11/2 inches in diameter and 1 3/4 inches deep.
