This magnificent delft vase stands 15 inches high and is of typical early delft form with a baluster body and octagonal base. The quality of the decoration is superb and is similar to that shown on Chinese pieces of the Wanli period (1573-1620) with figures in a landscape , a strange looking animal and boats on water as well as extensive decorative motifs. The rim has had minor restoration but overall the condition is excellent. It dates to the second half of the 17th century and has a diameter of 13 inches.
