This deep sided and large and heavy English delft punch bowl dates to the first decade of the 18th century and is either Bristol or London. The polychrome decoration is very striking with strong use of yellow, green and red and blue. In addition to the flowers and foliage there are buildings and a man in a boat fishing. A small mug with very similar decoration sold at Sothebys in 1991 as part of the Kassebaum Collection when it fetched £3080 despite some restoration. The interior is decorated in blue with a central flower and other motifs. It is in excellent unrestored condition apart from the usual minor chipping to the rim. It measures 11 1/2 inches in diameter x 6 inches high.
