Probably dating to about 1790, this armchair is probably Thames Valley and has some interesting features including its unusual weight, the exaggerated splay of the legs and the shape and thickness of the seat. It is constructed in yew wood including the attractive pierced splat apart from the well figured ash seat and the fruitwood H stretchers. Lovely rich honey colour. 36 inches high x 21 inches wide on the armbow and the seat height is 17 inches.
