A rare early 16th century Deruta shallow dish.

Dating to about 1500-1530, this lovely little maiolica dish is decorated in lustre and blue with a raised central cartouche containing the monogram IHS. There is a jug with very similar lustre colouring dated to 1520 illustrated on page 42 in the Fitzwilliam Museum handbook "Italian Maiolica". Wonderful untouched condition. 8 1/2 inches diameter x 1 1/4 inches deep.
