A really lovely little Charles II oak spice cupboard with a single door decorated with geometric mouldings and with eight internal moulded edge drawers. The door is held by its original strap hinges and the cupboard retains much of its original red ochre stain decoration which is particularly evident on the inside of the door. Another very interesting feature is compass drawn hexfoil or daisywheel that can be seen at the base of the door which would have been intended to ward off evil spirits. Lovely untouched condition apart from lacking its lock. Excellent soft patination. 13 1/2 inches wide x 9 1/2 inches deep x 12 1/2 inches high.
