An 18th century silkwork portrait of Queen Caroline, consort of George II. She lived from 1683 until 1737 and this is probably after a portrait of her by Godfrey Kneller. She is shown in her court robes and holding a sceptre and orb. The embroidery has the initials CR and a border of flowers and foliage and it has retained excellent colour. 15 inches square across the Hogarth type frame.
