AN EARLY 18TH CENTURY NORTH WALES DRESSER AND RACK
A really good example of an early 18th century oak dresser and rack from North Wales. The plate rack has a moulded cornice above a fretted frieze with a central heart motif suggesting that this might have been a marriage piece. The base has three fielded panel drawers with their original brass knobs and below is an ogee arch fielded panel flanked by a pair of shaped fielded panel doors. Superb colour and patination. Circa 1730. For a similar dresser but without the fretted frieze to the rack see Christies sale of The Parry Collection in 1997 lot 280 which was described as probably Vale of Clywd and estimated at £8-12,000. 61 1/2 inches wide x 22 inches deep x 76 inches high.
