With a superb two inch thick top, this table is constructed in beech wood and is of a type that is usually associated with the region of Bagneres-de-Bigorre in the heart of the Pyrenees. The top, which is removeable, has shaped trestle supports and a central stretcher making it very easy to sit at. Lovely rich colour. For a similar but smaller example see Sothebys' Haute Epoque auction 31st October 2006 which fetched £9000. 8 feet long x 3 feet wide x 29 inches high.
