A mid 18th century oak candlestand of unusual form which gives it a slight feel of Shaker furniture. The well figured top has a coopered edge and it has a simple turned stem with scratch ring decoration and low swept cabriole legs. Circa 1760. It bears an old label under the top reading "Mrs Perkins best wishes to you and yours." 17 inches diameter x 24 1/2 inches high.
