Probably dating to about 1700, this lovely little refectory table is in totally untouched condition and was until recently in a farmhouse in mid Wales. It has a cleated end top and a frame base with stop chamfered legs and peripheral stretchers. One end stretcher in particular has wonderful wear and this was probably where the farmer sat in his boots every day. Excellent untouched colour and patination. See Richard Bebb "Welsh Furniture" vol. 1 fig 459 for a similar example which is described as Breconshire 1630-1670. 70 1/2 inches long x 30 inches wide x 29 inches high.
