A very interesting English oil on canvas painting depicting a kitchen interior showing what is probably three generations of the same family. The family are probably from the upper echelons of the farming community and the room has a high ceiling, a large inglenook fireplace and some good pieces of furniture. There are many interesting details including items on the shelves and tables, a ewe with her lambs and balls for the children on the flagstones and what are possibly Christmas decorations. The clothing suggests that it is late 18th century. 13 inches x 11 inches across the giltwood frame.
