A very rare and beautiful 15th/16th century Venetian lace chalice veil depicting St Francis in Adoration kneeling by The Crucifixion in a border of scrolling foliage. Later framed, it bears a label verso dated September 1930 stating that it was bought at The Ufford Place, Suffolk sale. 12 inches square.
