A fine late 16th century maiolica albarello depicting St Paul who is shown holding a sword, the symbol of his martyrdom, and as author of the Epistles, a book. It is attributed to the workshop of Domenego da Venezia which produced large cylindrical and globular vases decorated with scrolled panels surrounded by stylized flowers and foliage in a dark blue ground.
