A mid 18th century Bristol delft deep sided dish with fine decoration in blue depicting figures in a coastal landscape with building, boats and trees which are done in typical sponged style. There is a similar dish in the Victoria and Albert Museum which is illustrated in Michael Archer's "Delftware" on page 222 and is attributed to John Bowen who co-owned a pottery with Richard Frank at Redcliff Back, Bristol 1750-2770. It is 13 inches in diameter and is in good unrestored condition.
