Being sold on the behalf of a collector who acquired it many years ago from William Stokes of Cirencester, this late 17th century oak armchair has a superbly carved back decorated with flowers and grapes in the style typical of North Cheshire/South Lancashire carving. See Chinnery pages 439 and 440 for chairs with carving. It is excellent untouched condition and is being sold for less than was paid for it many years.
